Stanthorpe Food & Wine Tour

Queensland’s Granite Belt

23–26 June 2026

3 Nights, 4 Days

You’ve been asking for something closer to home, and this is it.

Matt has spent years leading BTA’s Italy food tours, introducing travellers to small producers, long lunches, and the kind of local knowledge you genuinely can’t find on your own. This June, he’s bringing that same approach to Queensland’s Granite Belt, and honestly? The parallels are remarkable.

Cool-climate wines. Truffle farms. Handmade pasta. A hiking trail through ancient granite boulders. And plenty of long, unhurried afternoons doing exactly what you came for.

It’s four days, three nights, and a very good reason to head inland this winter.

A few spots remain. Departure is 23 June 2026.

What Your Four Days Look Like

Day 1 — Arrive, Settle In, and Get the Food & Wine Started

Arrive at Ridgemill Estate at midday and check into your studio cabin. The afternoon kicks off with a cooking class and lunch at Essen, one of the Granite Belt’s most respected culinary destinations. Come evening, you’ll gather for a wine tasting at Ridgemill itself, followed by cocktails and a light dinner. There’s nothing rushed about it.

Day 2 — Truffles, Gnocchi, and a Glass or Two

A winter morning in the Granite Belt means one thing: truffle season. You’ll spend the morning on a guided truffle hunt, touring the farm and tasting what’s been unearthed. Back at base, it’s hands-on in the kitchen for gnocchi and cannoli making, before an afternoon of wine and salami tasting. Aperitivo leads into dinner, and the evening is yours.

Day 3 — Walk It Off (Then Do It All Again)

A gentle 2.7km hike through Girraween National Park sets the tone for the day. Think cool air, granite outcrops, and the kind of quiet that only exists away from the city. After that, it’s back to what you came for: wine tasting, a food and wine pairing lunch, and another unhurried afternoon before aperitivo and dinner.

Day 4 — A Slow Send-Off

Check out of the cabins and take a leisurely morning visiting the Stanthorpe Cheese Factory and Sutton Juice Factory before finishing up at midday. Make your own way home, or arrange a return transfer to Brisbane through BTA.

Why This One’s Worth Booking Now

It’s short. Four days is all it takes. No big leave application, no lengthy planning. Just a long weekend in wine country.

Matt knows what he’s doing. You’ve trusted him with Italy. The Granite Belt gets the same attention, the same local connections, and the same honest enthusiasm for good food and good company.

The Granite Belt in June is something else. This is cool-climate wine country at its best. Truffle season is in full swing, the air is crisp, and the region’s small producers are doing genuinely interesting things. It’s not a destination you hear about every day, which is precisely why it’s worth going.

A few spots are left. This is a small group tour, designed to stay that way. Once it’s full, it’s full.
