Is this trek for you?
Some sections of this trek are popular, and the trail may be busy with trekkers, porters, and pack animals. On other days, you’ll enjoy quiet serenity. Accommodation along popular trails may be crowded and noisy, while on some nights, you and your group may be the only guests.
Numerous days on this trek involve long, steep ascents and descents on stone staircases. To enjoy the challenge of these physically demanding sections, a high level of physical and mental fitness is essential. Prior fitness training is highly recommended, and Back Track can provide advice on a suitable program.
During the trek, we stay overnight in lodges, guest houses, and hotels (commonly referred to as ‘tea houses’). Some tea houses offer a high level of comfort, with free hot water, charging stations, and Wi-Fi. Others may charge extra for these amenities, or may not provide them at all.
The variety and quality of meals also vary across tea houses. Some offer extensive menus with prompt and professional service, while others may have limited options and slower service. Approaching these inconsistencies with an open mind and good humour will enhance your overall experience.
Access to and departure from the trek involve traveling by 4WD jeep on rough, winding roads for several hours. A positive outlook and patience are valuable in these situations. Rest assured, the jeep drivers are experienced professionals, and passenger safety is their top priority.
