My 4-Night Escape to Club Med Bintan Island

A Personal Travel Diary from Emma, at Back Track Adventures

I’ve just returned from a 4-night stay at Club Med Bintan Island, and let me tell you—it was exactly the kind of reset I didn’t realise I needed. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, adventure, or simply a break from the everyday routine, this all-inclusive island escape ticks every single box.

It’s hard to believe that such a paradise is only 55 minutes by ferry from Singapore, but as soon as I arrived, I felt a world away from the city noise and schedules.

The Joy of All-Inclusive Dining & Drinks

One of the biggest highlights for me was the all-inclusive meals and drinks—and not just because everything is included (although that’s a huge bonus!). The food was genuinely fantastic. Every meal was fresh, varied, and beautifully presented. From international buffets to Asian specialities, I found myself looking forward to each dining experience.

There’s something pretty magical about grabbing a fresh tropical juice before an activity, or sipping a cocktail by the beach without having to think about the bill. And yes—the bar is open all day with unlimited drinks (including wine, beer, spirits, and mocktails). It’s the kind of ease that really helps you relax.

Entertainment & Island Vibes

Every evening, the resort comes alive with live entertainment—music, themed shows, and interactive performances. It had such a fun, upbeat energy without ever feeling too busy or overdone. After dinner, I loved heading to the beach bar to enjoy a drink and soak in the relaxed, coastal vibe.

Activities Galore (Do as Much or as Little as You Like)

Now, let’s talk about the activities—because Club Med Bintan is packed with them. I was genuinely amazed at how much I was able to do in just four days:

  • Tennis: I joined a group lesson on the full-sized courts and had a great time brushing up on my game with one of the friendly G.Os.
  • Aerial Hammock Yoga: This was such a fun and unique experience! Suspended in silk hammocks in an open-air pavilion, it was a light-hearted and surprisingly effective workout. There were a few wobbly moments, but plenty of laughs and lots of core engagement. Highly recommend giving it a go—even if you’re new to yoga!
  • Flying Trapeze: I didn’t quite work up the nerve to try this myself, but watching other guests take flight on the flying trapeze was incredible. It’s not something you see every day at a resort, and it definitely adds a sense of fun and adventure to the atmosphere.
  • Paddle Boarding & Kayaking: The calm, clear waters were perfect for a paddle. No bookings needed—just grab a board or kayak and head out. Such a peaceful way to enjoy the ocean.
  • Group Fitness Classes & Gym: Whether you’re into boxing, strength training, or aqua workouts, there’s always something going on. You can be as active—or as chilled—as you like.

And the best part? Every single activity is included in your stay.

Spa Bliss at Mandara

One afternoon, I booked an 80-minute traditional Indonesian massage at the Mandara Spa, and I’m so glad I did. Perched on a hill overlooking the sea, the spa feels like a private sanctuary. The massage was pure bliss—deeply relaxing, beautifully paced, and set to the sounds of nature all around me. I left feeling completely renewed.

Great for Families, Couples & Solo Travellers

I travelled solo, but I met families, couples, and groups of friends—all enjoying the resort in their own way. The Kids’ Clubs looked amazing (and very well-run), which gives parents some well-deserved downtime. Whether you’re travelling with others or flying solo, there’s a sense of community without it ever feeling crowded.

Final Thoughts – Why I’ll Be Back

Four nights at Club Med Bintan felt like a full reset. It’s the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, and so incredibly easy to get to whether as a stopover from Europe or something different to Singapore. With everything taken care of—meals, drinks, entertainment, and activities—you can truly switch off and just enjoy the moment.

If you’re looking for a tropical getaway without the long-haul flight, I can’t recommend Club Med Bintan enough. And if you’re thinking about booking, reach out to us at Back Track Adventures—I’d love to help you plan your own escape to this island paradise.
